Mehrdad is a Computer Science undergrad at Simon Fraser University, tucked away in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia, Canada. He spends most days experimenting with machine learning and computer vision, training PyTorch models to make sense of complex physical systems and messy real-world images. When he is not chasing gradients, you will find him deep in the backend, writing high-performance C++ or building cloud-native microservices in Go that scale (almost) as fast as his caffeine intake (Just kidding, I quit caffeine haha).

Beyond the code, Mehrdad enjoys hiking BC’s coastal trails, playing soccer, going to the gym, solving rubik's cube and reading books (Currently reading The Mountain Is You). If a project blends algorithms with real-world impact, chances are he is already sketching ideas for it on the nearest whiteboard.
